Number of participants:  20
Supplies: For decorations, we have a ton of dried florals, acorns, pinecones; fresh cut pine and fir branches and fresh rosemary the week of; Kristin Orr from the farm and myself (Christy Griner Hulsey) are on the same page! We will be collecting and foraging from now until the event.  We will also have  ribbon. But, you are welcome to bring you own.

So you know, when it comes to Holiday decorations, your outdoor decor is as important as the ones you hang up inside. Holiday wreaths are a classic and easy way to instantly elevate the charm when it comes to your seasonal trimmings. Whether you spend an evening taking on a DIY wreath with us or opt for one of our pre-made fresh bunches or original magnolia wreath options available online, we guarantee this is the best way to add seasonal whimsy to your door.

Wreaths like this dried citrus and greenery composition featured in Country Living Magazine, are created with dried oranges (that'll have your house smelling amazing!) assembled with a foraged grouping of leaves, branches, and berries from the backyard. Thanks to Suwanee native, Kristin Orr who is the Education and Volunteer Coordinator at Old Rucker Farm, we will have plenty of dried citrus. Thank you, Kristin!

About Old Rucker Farm & Park

Old Rucker Park is an approximately 10-acre tract of land that was once a commercial nursery and is home to a variety of species of plants and trees. The rolling topography of the property is highlighted by a small stream that runs through the park. While a small section of the site has been developed into the Old Rucker Farm, approximately 7.5 acres remain to be planned and developed into a passive recreational space.

The Old Rucker Farm is the home base of the city’s community agriculture program which was developed in 2018 with collaboration and guidance from numerous residents and community organizations. It includes an organically-grown vegetable, fruit, and cut-flower gardens, community garden plots, and an outdoor classroom, located within Old Rucker Park. The community agriculture program will evolve over time, striving to best serve and meet the needs of the entire community. The City of Alpharetta will continue to develop partnerships and programs to enhance the program, based on residents' feedback.
