How to Clean a Wood Cutting Board

You may be thinking that a slab of wood doesn't include any upkeep, but it does. I believe the the cutting board should be wiped down with warm, soapy water and and a towel every time you use it. Once it's dry you can put it away.

You can keep stains and odors maintained by rubbing salt and, or lemons, with the warm soapy water into the board until they're removed.

Make A Wood Cutting Board Last Forever

If you take care of your wood cutting board the right way it should last a very long time. When cutting try to use the entire board instead of overusing one area. This will wear the board evenly. It's also smart to store it inside.

Even when you aren't using it often you can pull it out and give the board TLC. It doesn't have to happen every time you use it but anywhere from every other week to once a month you can oil all of it's sides to keep it from drying out, warping and cracking.

Another way to show your board love, is to sand it with fine grit sandpaper. It's pretty easy just follow the wood grain and oil it after sanding.

The only issue is the they can warp, stain and carry smells but with a little babying you can keep one around for a real long time.
