DECEMBER 4 - 6 , 2017 | Calm. Composed. Restful. Fun. Never Before Done. 2 Night 1.5 Day. Intimately Gathered. Retreat.

Come celebrate the season's bounty with a 1.5 Day flower arranging course hosted by 2017 Mayesh Design Star, Christy Hulsey, and led by our friend and internationally acclaimed Sue McLeary of Passionflower. We're talking those liberating foam-free, wire-free cascade bouquets. Have you seen them? PLUS living jewelry and wearables like wrist corsages, shoulder corsages and Sue's famous "floral tattoo." You'll work with a premium flower recipe featuring the super stars of the season sourced from local growers and from around the world including Rosaprima roses in South America. And come away with designs that are all your own. The workshop includes being a part of a styled photo shoot by Lindsey Nowak and a portfolio photographed by Corbin Gurkin. THIS is truly something!

This class has been a dream of Christy's for a long time, and simply it's culmination and celebration of all the things that we call our favorites, here at Colonial House of Flowers.

Refreshments and light bites

Sue McLeary, aka “Passionflower Sue,” is famous for creating show-stopping wearable flower designs.
Participants will learn floral tattoos, shoulder corsages and cascade bouquets that don’t require wiring or foam.
“It’s all about creating an opulent look without expensive mechanics or time-consuming techniques,” she said.
“They’re very popular with customers right now and a lot of people get intimidated thinking it’s painstaking work,” she said. “I’ll show that it’s not! I’m passionate about making things faster and easier.”

Location - Musgrove Plantation, St. Simon's Island

Quaint, historically significant, beautiful and perfect. It'll take you back in time. It's a symbol or relaxation that's steeped with so much beauty it'll make you so emotional. We're telling you.

“Such a picturesque beautiful estate.” -- Anatoly Chernyaev, National Security Advisor to Mikhail Gorbachev

Christy and her family intentionally chose Musgrove as the location for this once-in-a-lifetime event to celebrate her year as the Mayesh Design Star and her friendship with Sue, who has been a constant source of encouragement over the years.

Thank you, Sue!

Sue was a rock of encouragement when Christy thought of applying to be the Mayesh Design Star. "It's a decision that changed my life... my family's life. And, I'd never have done it without Sue's soft inspiration and honest optimism," Christy smiles. "I'd have missed the greatest year of my life if it weren't for her believing in me... and placing a genuine interest and kind effort to tell me so! Sue means everything to me. I just want to do something so nice for her, and a celebration wrapped around a long time dream to host a workshop with her, and in her honor is well, perfect!"
