For all the flowers I blog about, I find there is usually one or two things that stand out. This editorial is among my favorites and here for instance, the drop dead gorgeous setting of the Swan House in Atlanta and the picture perfect floral friendly imagery by Texas based Patti Darby Photography. Oh, and did I mention the full on foraged installation in Country French Aged Mantel Urns!? Did I say one or two? The entire day artistically fabulous thanks to RSVP Event Design, destination planner extraordinaire.
For me, the flowers are personal with an abundance of foraged eleagnus and smilax in my new hometown of Atlanta. I thought it might be fun to share that I sourced the flowers from Certified American Grown Flower farm Grace Rose Farm in California, Mayesh's Los Angeles and mainly, the overgrown church parking lot at Roswell United Methodist Church. Because of the constrains of the pandemic, I did this entire installation from start to finish all by myself. And yes, prepping, loading, making, cleaning and that means walking up and down ALL those stairs at the Atlanta Historical Society for every delivery, set up and take down.
I am forever grateful to Julie Paisley and Raela Gore who exhibited a TON of patience and understanding for the challenges of floristry during the height of the pandemic. Like, shipments delayed and prices through the roof. I am being honest when I say it was really hard because it was... but, worth every frustration, and tear and sweat. I mean, I am IN LOVE with every last bit.

The first time I saw The Swan House on Instagram I immediately fell in love and kept imagining all of the beautiful images that I would create here one day and then a short while later, BOOM, I’m pulling up to this beautiful mansion in the middle of Atlanta Georgia and my dreams came true.
