Phickles Pickles is a small batch pickle company in Athens, Georgia, that preserves the best of every season! Phickles started out of the Tillman's Athens' home in 2009 & quickly grew as a favorite with the Athens' locals. They sell pickles off their front porch now known as The Pickle Porch and we have some here at the Colonial House, of course!
Phickles can be found gracing the shelves of gourmet, foodie, & gift shops all around the charming towns of the Southeastern U.S. Many restaurants in Athens serve Phickles one way or another from using them as a tasty cocktail garnishes, alongside fine cheeses, or even frying them up with tempura. Try a Phickle-tini!
When the economy soured (pun intended) in 2008, Angie and her husband did the unthinkable. They started their own business. Angie’s husband had grown up pickling green tomatoes and other vegetables with his grandmother and after years of hearing friends say “you should sell these,” Angie and her husband decided to do just that. Their home quickly morphed into Pickling Central and Phickles Pickles was born. Fun fact that you might find interesting – the name ‘Phickles’ is inspired by Angie’s husband’s middle name – Phinizy – an old Athens name.
