The day Paprika Magazine presented the floral vision for a fall vineyard shoot in the low country, I was indeed swept away. And, as I look through the stunning images that Chicago based photographer Lisa Blume captured, how can you blame me? I vividly remember creating organic, seasonally-focused floral designs featuring neutral jewel tones with my sister, Amanda Currier, in one of our first collaborations together.
Amanda in a nod to the sweet botanical tradition of the East Coast's evergreens and tropicals that effortlessly grow along the seaboard uniquely creatively incorporated magnolia leaves and palm fronds into a dramatic garland design. I focused on floral compositions to highlight the soft, colors that are a luxurious signature of fall in the south to complement the hanging installation.
Knowing the work is from the beginning of our floral careers it is hard for me not to criticize. But, when I think about how much fun we had with everything from the pomegranates to the olive branches, the nigella, ranunculus, dusty miller and hanging amaranths, I remember it doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful. And on that note- the beauty is truly blinding!
My little florist blog below barely does this outdoor fall wedding justice so check out the inspiring details at Bohemian Jewel Toned Savannah Wedding at Style Me Pretty. And on Simply Borrowed at Ivory & Beau. Let me tell you, it's unlike anything you have ever seen!
Yours truly,
