Lots of young adults are looking for affordable and low maintenance camaraderie because many are postponing marriage, having children and even adopting pets. In this plight houseplants have answered the query. According to the National Gardening Survey, gardening house holds were once dominated by baby boomers but now 18 - 34 year olds make up almost 30% of this demographic.

Check out Instagram if you need to verify our findings. The hashtag #plantparenthood has 1.5+ million posts, alone. And, a quick search for #planttok unearths more than 2 billion videos.
